This is expected. In some cases there is a delay in traffic subtraction, which is why the traffic you spent during your last session is only deducted a few minutes afterwards. Nothing is being used while the browser is closed. What you are seeing is the balance catching up with a session that has already finished. This applies to Residential and Mobile proxies.

What this means in practice

  • Allow for the delay before comparing figures. If you are measuring your own usage against the dashboard, wait before reading the number. See I think my traffic is burning faster than it should for a test that accounts for it.
  • A drop with no browser open is not a leak. If the balance keeps falling well beyond that window, check Breakdown by domain in Proxy usage statistics to see which domains are still generating requests.
