Two ways to authenticate a NodeMaven proxy: Both are set up on the Proxy Setup page, under Rotating Residential Proxy in the left navigation. Proxy Setup page in the NodeMaven dashboard

The three tabs

Username and password

Your proxy credentials are generated automatically once you have an active plan. You do not create them. Find them on the Authenticated tab, under Proxy generator. Two things to know:
  • Proxy credentials are not your NodeMaven account login. They are separate. Your account email and password will not connect a proxy.
  • Your username carries your settings. Location, session type and filter are all linked to it by the dashboard. See Understanding your proxy string.

IP whitelisting

Whitelisting lets a specific public IP use a proxy without sending credentials. Useful for tools that cannot store a username and password. IP Whitelist tab in the dashboard

Whitelist and IP

  1. On your dashboard, go to Proxy Setup > IP Whitelist > Add IP
  2. Add your IP to the IP field
  3. Select your preferred location
  4. Save

Changing your proxy password

Do this if you think someone else has your credentials.
  1. Open the Users tab.
  2. Click the three-dot menu next to the user.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Click Generate password.
  5. Click Save.
Edit user dialog with the Generate password button
This breaks every proxy string you have already generated. Anti-detect profiles, scripts, scheduled jobs and saved configurations all stop working the moment you save. Update them straight after.

Sub-users

The Users tab also creates sub-users. Each gets its own credentials and its own traffic limit, drawn from your account balance. See The Sub-user feature.
