IP whitelisting lets an approved IP address connect to a proxy without sending a username and password. Useful for tools that cannot store credentials.
Residential and Mobile only. IP whitelisting is not available for ISP proxies.
What it does and does not do
It does | It does not |
Let approved IPs connect without credentials | Create users - that is the Users tab |
Restrict a proxy to addresses you choose | Manage or limit traffic |
| Block websites |
Step 1 - Find your public IP
You need your public IP, not the address of your device on your own network.
Open icanhazip.com in a browser. It shows one line: your public IP.
| Example | Use it? |
Public IP |
| Yes |
Local IP |
| No - this is your router |
Anything starting 192.168., 10. or 172.16. to 172.31. is a local address and will not work.
Turn off any VPN or proxy first. If one is running, you will see its IP instead of yours.
Step 2 - Add it in the dashboard
Go to Rotating Residential Proxy in the left navigation. The page is headed Proxy Setup.
Open the IP Whitelist tab.
Click Add IP.
Enter your public IP.
Choose the location and other settings for the proxy.
Click Save.
Your proxy string appears in the table. Copy it.
Step 3 - Use it
Paste the proxy into your browser or anti-detect tool. No username or password needed - we recognise you by your IP.
Some tools want the address without the protocol. If yours rejects the string, remove http:// or socks5:// from the front.
If it does not connect
Four things to check, in order:
Check | Fix |
Did you add your public IP? | A local address like |
Has your IP changed? | Most home connections get a new IP periodically. Check icanhazip.com again and compare. |
Is a VPN or another proxy running? | Either one changes the IP we see. Turn it off and re-check. |
IPv4 or IPv6? | If you whitelisted one and connect on the other, we will not match you. |
