# My traffic dropped 15-30 minutes after I closed my browser

> Traffic deduction is not instant. Usage from your last session can appear on your balance several minutes after you stop using the proxy.

**This is expected.** In some cases there is a delay in traffic subtraction, which is why the traffic you spent during your last session is only deducted a few minutes afterwards.

Nothing is being used while the browser is closed. What you are seeing is the balance catching up with a session that has already finished.

This applies to Residential and Mobile proxies.

## What this means in practice

* **Allow for the delay before comparing figures.** If you are measuring your own usage against the dashboard, wait before reading the number. See [I think my traffic is burning faster than it should](/troubleshooting/traffic-burning-fast) for a test that accounts for it.
* **A drop with no browser open is not a leak.** If the balance keeps falling well beyond that window, check **Breakdown by domain** in [Proxy usage statistics](/residential-mobile/usage-statistics) to see which domains are still generating requests.
