# What ports can I use with your proxies?

> Residential and Mobile proxies use configurable port ranges.

NodeMaven Residential and Mobile proxies support two protocols: **HTTP** and **SOCKS5**.

| | **Residential and Mobile** |
| - | - |
| **Host** | `gate.nodemaven.com` |
| **HTTP ports** | 8080-9080, 32000-33000 |
| **SOCKS5 ports** | 1080-2080, 42000-43000 |
| **Can you choose the port?** | Yes, any port in range |

Pick the protocol in your tool, then use a port from the matching range.

## HTTP

Use any port between 8080-9080 or 32000-33000.

```bash theme={null}
curl -v -x "http://USERNAME-country-us:PASSWORD@gate.nodemaven.com:8080" -L http://ip-api.com
```

## SOCKS5

Use any port between 1080-2080 or 42000-43000.

```bash theme={null}
curl -v -x "socks5://USERNAME-country-us:PASSWORD@gate.nodemaven.com:1080" -L http://ip-api.com
```

## Choosing a port

**Any port inside the supported range works.** There is no best port and no reason to prefer one over another.

If a port does not connect, it is being blocked before your traffic reaches us - usually by your own network, firewall, workplace or router. Try another port in the same range.
