# Users

> One endpoint that returns information about the account the API key belongs to. Use it to confirm which account a key is authenticating as.

The users section has a single endpoint. It returns information about yourself, meaning the account that the API key in the request belongs to. If you manage more than one key, this is how you confirm which account a given key is authenticating as.

All requests go to `https://api.nodemaven.com/api/v2/base/` and carry the header `Authorization: x-api-key YOUR_API_KEY`. See the [NodeMaven API overview](/proxy-api/overview) for the shared basics.

## Endpoint

| Method | Path | What it does | Responses |
| - | - | - | - |
| `GET` | `/users/me` | Retrieve information about yourself | 200, 403, 500 |

```bash theme={null}
curl https://api.nodemaven.com/api/v2/base/users/me \
  -H "Authorization: x-api-key YOUR_API_KEY"
```

A 403 means the key did not authorise the request.
