# Account

> Two endpoints that answer whether the account can send traffic right now and how much traffic is left.

The account endpoints answer two practical questions: can this account send traffic right now, and how much traffic is left. They are the checks to run before a job starts and while it is running.

All requests go to `https://api.nodemaven.com/api/v2/base/` and carry the header `Authorization: x-api-key YOUR_API_KEY`. See the [NodeMaven API overview](/proxy-api/overview) for the shared basics.

## Endpoints

| Method | Path | What it does | Responses |
| - | - | - | - |
| `GET` | `/account/` | Can I send traffic right now? | 200 |
| `GET` | `/account/balance/` | How much traffic is left? | 200 |

```bash theme={null}
curl https://api.nodemaven.com/api/v2/base/account/ \
  -H "Authorization: x-api-key YOUR_API_KEY"
```

## Checking the balance

```bash theme={null}
curl https://api.nodemaven.com/api/v2/base/account/balance/ \
  -H "Authorization: x-api-key YOUR_API_KEY"
```

Use `GET /account/` when you want the broader "am I in a state to send traffic" answer, and `GET /account/balance/` when all you need is the remaining traffic figure.
