# Proxifier

> Route any desktop application through a NodeMaven proxy with Proxifier.

Proxifier is a tool that allows applications to connect to the internet through a proxy server, even if those applications do not natively support proxies.

To start, download Proxifier from the [Proxifier download page](https://www.proxifier.com/download/).

## Set up Proxifier with a NodeMaven proxy

After Proxifier is installed on your computer, start the application and create a new profile.

    Go to **Profile**, then select **Proxy Servers**.

    A new window opens.

  <Step title="Add a proxy server">
    Click the **Add** button on the upper right side of the window.

    Then fill in the dialog:

    1. In the **Address** section, add the NodeMaven host `gate.nodemaven.com`.
    2. In the **Port** section, add a port from the ranges below.
    3. Select your protocol from the drop-down menu.
    4. Enable **Authentication**.
    5. Fill in your NodeMaven proxy username.
    6. Fill in your NodeMaven proxy password.
    7. Click **OK**.

    | - | - |
    | SOCKS5 | `1080` up to `2080` |
    | HTTP | `8080` up to `9080` |

      NodeMaven supports HTTP and SOCKS5 only. See [Protocols and ports](/residential-mobile/protocols-and-ports) for the defaults, and [Authentication](/residential-mobile/authentication) for where to find your username and password.

  <Step title="Check the connection">
    After your proxy server is set up, check the connection by clicking the **Check** button on the right side of the window.

Once the check looks good, you are ready to use your NodeMaven proxies with Proxifier.
