# Firefox (SwitchyOmega extension)

> Set up a NodeMaven proxy in Firefox with the SwitchyOmega extension.

This guide shows how to set up a NodeMaven proxy in Firefox using the SwitchyOmega extension.

## Set up SwitchyOmega in Firefox

<Steps>

    Install the [SwitchyOmega extension for Firefox](https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/switchyomega/) from Mozilla Add-ons.

  <Step title="Open Options">
    Open the SwitchyOmega **Options** page.

  <Step title="Create a new profile">
    Click the **New profile** button.

  <Step title="Name the profile">
    Give the profile a name, select the **Proxy Profile** option, and click **Create**.

  <Step title="Enter the proxy server">
    Select the **HTTP** protocol, fill in server `gate.nodemaven.com` and port `8080`, then click the **lock** icon on the right.

  <Step title="Enter your credentials">
    Fill in your NodeMaven [username and password](/residential-mobile/authentication) and click **Save changes**.

  <Step title="Apply changes">
    Click **Apply changes** to save the SwitchyOmega profile.

  <Step title="Activate the profile">
    Click the SwitchyOmega icon and choose the profile you created. Once the profile is selected, your proxies are enabled.

  <Step title="Check your IP">
    Your NodeMaven proxy is set up. Check the IP address you are browsing from with [MaxMind](https://www.maxmind.com/en/locate-my-ip-address), or follow [Test your proxies](/quickstart/test-your-proxies).
