# Are your proxies fast?

> The NodeMaven network is optimized for speed, though several factors outside the proxy affect the speed you see.

The NodeMaven proxy network is optimized for the best possible speed. Proxy performance still depends on factors outside the network, including:

* Your own home internet connection
* The proxy location settings you select
* The tools you connect through
* The domains you visit

If your proxy feels slower than expected, see [Slow proxy](/troubleshooting/slow-proxy) for the things to check first.
