# Why is my crypto payment pending?

> Crypto usually confirms in minutes. How to check your transaction on a block explorer and what to do if traffic does not arrive.

Crypto payments usually confirm within a few minutes. **Once the network confirms your transaction, your traffic is added automatically and the payment stops showing as pending.**

## If the payment is taking longer

<Steps>
  <Step title="Find your transaction hash">
    Your wallet or exchange calls this a hash, a TXID, or a transaction ID. All three names refer to the same thing.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check the hash on a block explorer">
    Look the hash up on the block explorer for the network you paid on: Etherscan for Ethereum, Tronscan for Tron, and the equivalent explorer for whichever other network you used.
  </Step>
</Steps>

| What the explorer says | What it means |
| - | - |
| Successful, or Confirmed | The network has your transaction. If your traffic has not appeared, contact support with the hash |
| Still pending | The network is busy. The transaction will confirm on its own, so there is nothing to do but wait |
| Failed, or not found | The transaction did not go through and your funds stayed in your wallet. Try again |

## Network congestion

**A busy network is the usual reason for a slow confirmation.** Congestion on the network is outside NodeMaven's control and outside your wallet's control, because the transaction simply sits in the queue until the network processes it.

If your transaction has been pending for hours, your wallet or exchange can tell you whether the fee you paid is too low for current network conditions.

## When traffic does not arrive after the transaction is confirmed

Contact support with your **transaction hash** and the team will trace the payment. Live chat is the fastest channel for this.

Two situations need to be handled manually rather than waited out:

* **You sent the payment from a Smart Contract.** Smart contract transfers are not supported and cannot be credited automatically. See [what methods of payment do you offer?](/billing/payment-methods)
* **You sent the payment on a different network than the one shown at checkout.** Send support the hash and the team will check what can be done.
