# How to apply a coupon

> Enter your coupon code at checkout to get a discount or extra GBs on a package or subscription.

A NodeMaven coupon can get you extra GBs or a discount when you buy a package or a subscription. Coupon codes are entered at checkout.

## Applying your coupon

<Steps>
  <Step title="Choose your package">
    Select the package you want and start the purchase.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the coupon field">
    Click **apply coupon** and paste your coupon code into the field.

    Click **apply**.

  <Step title="Check the order summary">
    The coupon now shows in your order summary, so you can confirm the discount before you pay.

<Note>
  **Coupons do not apply to the Trial Plan.** The trial is already a one-off discounted purchase, so a coupon code will not reduce it further. See [do you offer a free trial?](/billing/free-trial)
