# How does cashback work?

> Every month you get a percentage of the traffic you used back as bonus traffic. The rate rises with usage, from 5% to 10%.

**Every month, NodeMaven gives you a percentage of the traffic you used back as bonus traffic.** You do not apply for it and you do not need a coupon. It is calculated automatically at the end of each month.

Cashback applies to **Rotating Residential and Mobile** traffic. ISP proxies carry unlimited traffic and are not metered, so there is no cashback on them.

## The rate depends on how much you used

The more traffic you use in a month, the higher the percentage you get back.

| Traffic used that month | You get back |
| - | - |
| Under 1 GB | Nothing |
| 1 to 24 GB | 5% |
| 25 to 49 GB | 6% |
| 50 to 99 GB | 7% |
| 100 to 249 GB | 8% |
| 250 to 499 GB | 9% |
| 500 GB and above | 10% |

The whole month falls into one band. You are not paid a different rate on different portions of your usage.

**Cashback starts at 1 GB.** A month in which you used less than that earns nothing.

## Worked examples

| You used | Band | Cashback |
| - | - | - |
| 10 GB | 1 to 24 GB, so 5% | 0.5 GB |
| 30 GB | 25 to 49 GB, so 6% | 1.8 GB |
| 120 GB | 100 to 249 GB, so 8% | 9.6 GB |
| 600 GB | 500 GB and above, so 10% | 60 GB |

## When it arrives

**Cashback for the previous month is credited on the 3rd of each month.** Traffic you use in March is credited on 3 April.

## Where your cashback appears

There are two places to see it.

**The Bonus traffic button** at the top of the dashboard, next to **Traffic left**, opens a panel showing your current bonus balance, the six tiers, and how much you are on track to earn this month. **Expected cashback** is a live projection based on the traffic you have used so far, so it moves up as your usage crosses each band.

**The Get FREE traffic page** in the left navigation shows the same balance alongside your referral bonuses, plus the full **Bonus History** table.

<Note>
  **Bonus traffic never expires.** It sits in your bonus balance until you use it, however long that takes.
</Note>

## Using your cashback

Cashback is not added to your usable balance automatically. It waits in your bonus balance until you move it across.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open your bonus balance">
    Click **Bonus traffic** at the top of the dashboard, or **Get FREE traffic** in the left navigation.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check what is waiting">
    The panel shows your bonus balance and **Total earned**. On the Get FREE traffic page the same figures appear as **Available to claim** and **All time earned**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Move it into your balance">
    Click **Use Bonus Traffic** in the panel, or **Claim bonus traffic** on the Get FREE traffic page. The amount moves into **Traffic left** and is usable like any other traffic.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Seeing past months

The **Bonus History** table at the bottom of **Get FREE traffic** lists every bonus you have received. A cashback row shows the month it covers, the traffic it was calculated on and the rate applied, for example "Monthly cashback for 2026-03, 1.68 GB at 5.00%", credited on 3 April.

The **Bonus traffic** panel shows the same entries in short form under **Recent Activity**, with **View all** for the full list.

Use the **Bonus type** dropdown to filter cashback rows from [referral](/billing/referral-program) rows.

## Cashback and your traffic balance

Cashback is bonus traffic, not money. It cannot be withdrawn, refunded, or applied against an invoice. It is added to the same **Traffic left** balance you spend on Residential and Mobile proxies.

For how that balance behaves when you change plans, see [What happens to unused traffic](/billing/unused-traffic).
